I'm Fabian Sandobal, a product designer and frontend developer with 8+ years building digital experiences. My path wasn't a straight line: I started as an illustrator, shaping the visuals for e-learning. But I didn't just want to imagine interfaces, I wanted to build them. So I taught myself frontend, and everything clicked. I'd found my place: right on the border between design and code, where most designers don't spend.
Since then I've worked across ERP platforms, B2B SaaS, and mobile apps — designing in Figma and building in React and Angular. That dual fluency changes everything. My handoffs aren't a pretty mockup tossed over a wall; they ship production-ready, and I speak the same language as the engineers the communication is most fluid.
What drives me
I'm obsessed with systems thinking: tokens, components, consistency — the invisible architecture that lets a product scale without breaking. I built a design system from the ground up, I helped to publish it as a shared npm library, and watched 50+ engineers adopt it across 10+ products. That's the kind of work I love: design that compounds.
I also believe great designers evolve with their tools. I've folded AI deep into my workflow (Cursor, Lovable, Figma Make), which lets me prototype roughly 40% faster — not to replace judgment, but to spend more of my time on it.
